Welcome from the
Founder
and President

Hello, my name is John Leonard Harris, the Founder and President of Encouragement Unlimited, Inc. I am native of St. Louis, Missouri, where I attended school in the Wellston School District until eighth grade.  I transferred to St. Louis Priory College Preparatory High School graduating in 1980. After high school, I attended the University of Missouri-Columbia earning Bachelor's degree in Speech and Dramatic Arts in 1984.  I earned my Master's degree in  Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2005.

One of the greatest joys of my life came when in 1986 I married the former Charlene Maxey of Lincoln.  In over 35 years of wedded bliss we have had four children, Preston, Shannon, JoAnna and John Jr.  We also have three grandsons, Eli, Legend and Owen.

Since our inception in 2002, Encouragement Unlimited has sought to serve individuals and families, as well as help to move life forward. We know that life can be a struggle and that barriers inhibit progress. Our goal is often to impact people by helping them overcome the challenges that they face. Whatever it is, food, clothing, job assistance, you name it, we are there to be an advocate.

Encouragement Unlimited, Inc. is an outreach of my life, a life changed by the reality of Jesus Christ some years ago. This change has taken me from being more concerned about myself to becoming more concerned about others. This change has challenged me to continually reflect on God's blessing to me over the course of my life, a blessing that I seek to give away each day.

Our organization partners with other organizations locally like the Clyde Malone Community Center, Food Bank of Lincoln, Lincoln Public Schools and the Nebraska African American Domestic Violence Coalition.  We partner nationally with organizations like the Men's Wearhouse.

Thank you for checking out our site and for beginning the journey to becoming an encourager as well. Feel free to contact me at: mr.encouragement@gmail.com or call us at: 402-309-9411 if we can be of service to you or your organizations.

Be encouraged and God bless!
